Colonel Augustus Deese

Above all things, the Colonel is a gentleman. Completely unaware of the innuendo wrapped around him, when he offers his nuts to a lady it means just that; in the shell, roasted, salty nuts. He’s a fearless adventurer; always on the lookout for someone in need, never afraid of doing the right thing, and always standing up for values and virtues. Augustus Deese is a man of action. In the midst of uncertainty he is a rock, the lighthouse in a fog others look to. The humble Colonel sees
himself as a simple man who didn’t shrink from the call of duty. As a boy he was visited by the spirit of his grandfather, Gran-pappy Deese, who foretold to him of a time of great tribulation and need. “Plant your seed, young man, for one day your nuts will be needed. I know the burden is heavy, but Deese Nuts are greater than you or I.” As a child he was laughed at and through adulthood his nuts were mocked. It wasn’t until the great civil war that the special purpose of Deese’ nuts was made apparent. The Colonel, ever forgiving, held no grudge against those who had belittled him, and shared his nuts with all. Respect and admiration for the Colonel and his magnificent nuts spread like wild fire, but for those who would call him a hero he would simply grin, “The importance lies not in my life sir, but in Deese Nuts.”
